ferries
Surrounded by ocean Brittany has good ferry access to Ireland and the United Kingdom. The islands of Jersey and Guernsey are located just north of the region and also connected with regular ferries. The ports of Saint-Malo and Roscoff are the departure points for passengers to Portsmouth and Plymouth in Great Britain and Cork in Ireland. In 2008, 944,964 passengers used Saint-Malo harbour.
The ports of Caen, Carteret, Cherbourg, Dielette, Dieppe and Le Havre are a few hours drive away in neighbouring Normandy.
